Express entry immigration in Canada is one of the most popular immigration systems. This system was introduced in 2015 and offers Canadian Permanent Residency to individuals and families all over the world. The main requirement of this system is that the individual applying for express entry must be a skilled and qualified worker.
How does Express Entry Work?
Express entry is basically not an immigration program but an online system to manage the intake of immigration applications in Canada where the best candidates are offered the Permanent Residency of Canada.
The express entry includes four programs under it which are Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades (FST), Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Select Streams under Provincial Nominee Programs.
Express Entry Point System
In the express entry, the candidates submit a self-assessed profile to the express entry pool. Here the candidates are scored using a comprehensive ranking system.
The points scored by an individual depend on a few factors such as age, work experience, education, language etc. here are extra points for a qualified job offer and a provincial nomination.
After every two weeks, the Canadian Government conducts a draw and the top-scoring candidates are sent the invitations to apply (ITA) for permanent residency. After receiving the invitations to apply, the candidates submit their files within 60 days. If a candidate is unable to submit the file within this time period, the ITA becomes invalid.
Time Needed For Express Entry
The final processing of the files takes about four to six months. Majority of the files are processed in about 6 months. The file can take more time in case the form is not properly filed or there are discrepancies.
The official Website of Canada Immigration mentions that the estimated time will be around 4-5 months, but in most of our cases, 6 months is the given time frame.
